This PlayStation 5 title has reached quite an impressive milestone, yet not everyone is sold on its story.

Plenty of PlayStation experiences do well, but reaching three million downloads isn’t exactly a regular occurrence.

You’d think, given how much of an achievement this is, that players would be praising this free PS5 game.

But you’d be wrong.

For the most part, they’re either indifferent or just downright brutal towards it.

The Silent Hill Twitter account made the announcement about Silent Hill: The Short Message during the early hours of this morning.

On Twitter, most are being kind and/or begging for the game to become available on either Xbox or the Switch.

But Reddit?

Well, that’s a whole different story.

“I wonder what percentage of that uninstalled after 15 minutes,” posted kingdazy.

Another post reads, “Wild to think about what Silent Hill has become when it was the go-to standard for psychological horror during the early PlayStation days.”

“Konami really couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery,” they added.

From there, the comments range from calling the experience “terrible”, to open disgust at it carrying the Silent Hill name.

If you only read Reddit, you’d be wondering how the game ever reached three million downloads.

While the majority seem highly against this game, as others pointed out, it’s a free experience, meaning it doesn’t particularly matter what you think.

You didn’t pay for it, so no harm done.

“I keep forgetting it exists. But also, it's free right? It makes sense people would download a free silent hill short game with the hype of the SH2 remake and movie,” said GrimmTrixX.

If you’re curious, and not afraid to possibly be disappointed, you can still get Silent Hill: The Short Message for free right now.

Just don’t come crying to us if you don’t like it – head to Reddit instead.
