We all know the meme about booting up a PlayStation and it suddenly sounding like a jet is taking off from your room.
However, what not all of us know is that going to the trouble of cracking it open and cleaning it out could help this issue.
Check out the PlayStation 5 in all its very clean glory in the reveal trailer below!
At least that is what one teenager recently had to learn the hard way.

Taking to r/playstation last year, one fed-up father revealed the shocking truth about what the inside of our PlayStation 5 consoles could actually look like.
Posting on behalf of his 16-year old son, he said the following:
“Son’s PS5 kept overheating. They wanted $400 for out of warranty repair.
Took apart and found this clogging the air vents.”

Before we go any further, this price is ridiculous and another reason why you should attempt to clean your PS5 yourself.
Especially if it looks like the image that was provided by user BigCoreyD.
Showing the PlayStation 5’s PSU full to the brim with dog fur, it is clear to see why the unit had been overheating for a while.
BigCoreyD reveals that the PS5 was originally sat just three inches off the ground and that the household owns two very fluffy dogs. As a result, the console had been suffering for a while.

However, after making his son clean it out, it is seemingly now running better and a reminder to us all that it is worth cracking into your PS5 if you are experiencing overheating.
Youtube offers many tutorials on how to safely dismantle your consoles in order to clean them and with shops charging eye-watering amounts to do it for you, it is always worth trying it yourself in the hopes of keeping Chewbacca out of your PSU.
