Crimson Desert is out today, but some gamers aren't happy with how it looks on PlayStation 5. Thankfully, there appears to be a quick fix.
Crimson Desert has been years in the making since it was first announced in 2019 as an online multiplayer RPG, before pivoting into a single-player experience, a decision that seems to have been proven for the best.
There’s no question that Crimson Desert is one of the best-looking games of 2026 so far, and despite some concerns over its controls, it’s looking like it could be a hit on the hands for indie developer Pearl Abyss. However, at least on PS5, not everyone is happy.
Could Crimson Desert Look Better on PlayStation 5?
“Is anyone else dealing with the high blurry quality in Crimson Desert?” asked Redditor Marcellius-the-3rd.
Thankfully, a fellow Reddit user was happy to offer a simple trick that has seemingly fixed that issue.

“I had a blurriness problem in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and the culprit was the 120Hz mode in the console settings. Don't know if it will help, but maybe check that out,” replied Dr_TAG.
Dr_TAG followed up by adding to disable 120Hz, simply go to the PlayStation 5 console settings, then ‘Screen and Video’, ‘Video Output’ and finally, set ‘Enable 120Hz Output’ to off.
Does Disabling This Feature Improve the Blurry Visuals of Crimson Desert?

Apparently, so, because other Reddit users reported that this trick does in fact work.
“Thank you. It looks so ugly with the blur. I don't care about graphics or anything like that, but the blur messes with my eyes,” explained Ace_Waffles10.
“This is it. Fixed it for me tonight,” replied JOvertron.
“Thank you! The game looks much better now,” declared Marcellius-the-3rd.
“Sir, if I can kiss you through the screen, I would do it. Thank you,” rejoiced Interesting-World613.
We Scored Crimson Desert 8/10!
“Crimson Desert is by no means a perfect game. It’s an amalgamation of perhaps slightly too many ideas, and that makes for a weirdly paced experience that demands a lot of the player without offering much in the way of help,” wrote GAMINGbible’s Kate. “And yet, it left me in awe more times than anything else I’ve played in recent memory with its dazzling open-world. Crimson Desert may not be the best game you'll ever play, but it’ll certainly be up there as perhaps the most memorable.”
Crimson Desert is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
