If there are two things guaranteed in this world, it isn’t death and taxes, it’s GTA VI and the PlayStation 5 Pro.

One is a dead cert, with the release coming in 2025, while the other seems to be a definite thing, although Sony seems to be teasing us more and more.

For the love of all that is holy, we need a second trailer for GTA 6

According to industry insider, Jeff Grubb, Sony is planning to launch the fabled PS5 Pro model to coincide with the release of GTA VI.

I hope you’ve got a salt shaker to hand because this is just rumour and speculation, however, the idea of this happening isn’t out of the realms of possibility.

PlayStation has always been the target platform for Grand Theft Auto and the two have gone hand-in-hand for decades.

Grubb believes that the Sony console will be announced at a State of Play showcase in September.

Now, I would think that Sony would want to capitalise on the Christmas sales on the console and announce it in September with a November release date.

This would give them the lead for this Christmas with a bundle deal for GTA VI coming next year ready for Christmas 2025.

With Xbox easing off the gas with their console sales, and their most recent hardware refresh being clowned by fans, we could see the Japanese tech giant swoop in for the kill.

Of course, nothing is set in stone and Sony has yet to even discuss the console upgrade publicly, although the hardware was the talk of Gamecom in Germany this past week.

We’ll have to wait until Sony steps onto the stage later next month but a reveal will surely happen soon, especially as so many believe this console generation is reaching its final years.

Will we see a collaboration between Rockstar Games and Sony? It’s highly likely.
