A recent leak surrounding the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI has appeared online over the weekend and it seems as though fans have been left feeling torn over the news.
The launch of Grand Theft Auto VI remains one of the most anticipated in gaming history as the months quickly tick down to the big day in question.
As of 26 May 2026, the majority of us will be diving into the next Grand Theft Auto entry after waiting well over a decade since its latest, Grand Theft Auto V, was released.
However, a recent leak courtesy of a PlayStation engineer, by the name of Detective Seeds on social media, reveals that PlayStation 5 users may have the upper hand when it comes to suspected GTA VI features.

According to the leak, the PlayStation 5 Pro will feature an exclusive 60fps mode with multiple options such as performance and fidelity.
Additionally, the PlayStation 5 Pro will come alongside a GTA VI bundle and this will be revealed during Rockstar’s next big marketing push.
As part of said marketing deal, PlayStation engineers are working with Rockstar to optimise the game on the PS5 Pro so it is no doubt that playing Grand Theft Auto VI on Sony’s latest console will be the most beneficial.
However, for those who do not own the PlayStation 5, it is disappointing news to say the least.

“Thank god, I just upgraded my PS5 to Pro last week,” one lucky fan wrote over on Twitter.
“Okay that’s it. Getting the Pro,” the GTA 6 Unlimited account posted.
However, another user was prepared to wait.
“Just going to wait for PC release,” they revealed.

“Got a PS5, but not going to upgrade to a Pro just to unlock graphical fidelity for one game when I can just be patient.”
Of course, this leak has not been verified by Sony or Rockstar so it is worth taking with a pinch of salt.
However, if it is true, it will be a disappointing realisation for Xbox Series X/S users and even though who own the base PlayStation 5.
Unfortunately, only time will tell.
