One of FromSoftware’s most beloved games of all time is, according to a leak that one outlet received, getting a remaster… and you are probably not gonna be happy to hear which FromSoftware title that is.

Shout out to Vaspaan Dastoor over on TheGamer who originally covered the story.

According to a tip received by Nick Baker over at XboxEra, Dark Souls 3 is supposedly getting the remaster treatment.

Nick announced this info on the latest episode of The XboxEra Podcast.

But what about Bloodborne? Take a look at one of FromSoft's very best below.

"What I have heard is that we are getting a Dark Souls 3 remaster… got the [direct message] out of nowhere yesterday,” he revealed.

Although Nick couldn’t reveal much regarding the leak, he did follow it up by stating, “I did get a little bit more than that, but I'm not allowed to pass that on."

And that is genuinely all the details we currently have regarding the rumour. Of course that hasn’t stopped the Bloodborne community from getting a little salty about it (which is kinda fair, to be honest).

Over on the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit in a thread detailing the leak, several people found the fact that Dark Souls 3 would be getting a remaster before Bloodborne somewhat humourous.

“Dark Souls 3 remaster before Bloodborne? We’re living in a Dark Souls loop,” replied user TheOJsGlove.

“You can tell this might actually be true because it doesn’t say it’s Bloodborne,” commented Aragorn527.

So the real question is, if this rumour does prove to be true… why exactly would FromSoftware choose to remaster Dark Souls 3 over one like Bloodborne, the latter of which fans have been begging to be remastered or remade for well over a decade?

Well, that’s simple. FromSoftware own the rights to Dark Souls. Sony own the rights to Bloodborne. Without Sony approving anything beforehand, a Bloodborne remaster is unfortunately out of FromSoftware’s hands.
