Skyrim fans wowed by next-gen remaster that would blow my PC up

Our poor PC doesn't stand a chance

Skyrim, oh, Skyrim, you’re a beautiful game but you’re also looking your age.

We can learn to live with that passage of time, or we can let others remaster your visuals for us to fawn over.

Ultimately, the latter decision won out.

Reddit user KyleTerra shared their next-gen vision of Bethesda’s RPG with fellow fans on the Skyrim subreddit.

“I tried making Skyrim as next-gen as possible,” they declared.

Alongside their words is a video of what they’ve achieved, and quite honestly, it’s stunning.

Upon watching the remastered clip, ASL4theblind said, “I often think back to the first time I played FO4 and Skyrim and how absolutely breathtaking it was [...] This clip kinda made me feel like that again.”

We all want to play this version of the beloved title, but we fear our computers would die a quick and painful death if we tried.

One user joked, “My graphics card overheated playing the video.”

Another commented, “Mine exploded just from watching this on my phone in the same room as my PC.”

Our PCs are scared by this remaster even being mentioned in close proximity to them. Poor things, they don’t stand a chance.

The full mod list the OP used has since been shared within the same thread.

But if you already know you won’t be able to play (RIP), there are other ways to enjoy Skyrim; they’re less next-gen orientated, but still enjoyable.

One such offering is a brand new island you can visit as part of a fan-made expansion from NexusMods.

There’s also another arguably more epic expansion waiting for you to test your skills as an adventurer.

In short, Skyrim is still going strong.

As much as we’d love The Elder Scrolls VI to just launch already, we’re nowhere near that launch date.

In the meantime, Skyrim can keep us busy.
