Just when you thought that Skyrim couldn't get any bigger, the ever-talented modding community expands further on the popular fantasy RPG from Bethesda.
Very few games over the years have garnered the same level of success as Bethesda’s most popular entry in The Elder Scrolls series, Skyrim.
Originally released in 2011 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Skyrim is still going strong to this day. Largely because Bethesda has released it on every console generation since its initial launch, and the vibrant modding community. Oh, and it’s a fantastic game, let’s not forget that.
There are all sorts of mods available for Skyrim, whether it's visual and performance improvements, bug fixes, new quests, weapons, and much more.

One such mod is called ‘Grand Solitude - The Walls of High King Erling’, created by Drengin, ManuOstar44 and Varangian94. Best of all, it’s available to download for free right now via Nexusmods.
“The capital of all Skyrim — Solitude — in the original game is a shadow of its true glory. Nothing gives the impression that this is a great city,” reads the synopsis of the mod.
“There's no real bustling life here: no huge number of traders coming to the province's capital to sell their goods, no citizens rushing about in the morning going on business, and no shops with a wide selection of products.”
‘Grand Solitude - The Walls of High King Erling’ includes 50 new characters that go about their daily routines, new buildings and revamped interiors, to name a few. It sounds like one heck of an expansion-sized mod.
