Neutrality is difficult to maintain when you see this kind of thing from Red Dead Redemption.

Don't misunderstand, we adore this Rockstar Games franchise. That said, this new release is taking the mick somewhat.

When we say new, we’d like to add a caveat that it may not be new to you specifically.

Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare have finally been released on PC.

It's time to play Red Dead Redemption on your PC. Oh, happy days!

It should be a time of celebration, yet the cost of this PC release has infuriated fans. And in an unusual turn of events, we agree with their ire.

This version of the original game and its scary expansion will set you back $49.99, yet Red Dead Redemption 2 will only cost you $34.99.

Divisive pricing isn’t at all surprising given Rockstar Games’ parent company’s past opinions on such matters.

Nevertheless, some fans can’t let this go.

“All they did was completely convert the game to run on modern platforms and add new features that the game didn’t originally support like graphics settings and upscalers!

“The game should be free! I’m entitled to entertainment no matter the cost of production!” argued Redditor gamemaster257.

Another fan joked, “L-leave the multi-million dollar company alone!”

Despite plenty of players being annoyed by this interesting choice, there are some who don’t think it’s that big an issue.

“Gamers always find something to complain about. It's more expensive cause they just ported it to the PC. If you want a cheaper copy, buy it on console. What's so hard to understand? Don't like the price, wait for a sale. Shut up about it,” reads one post.

But should we really have to pay more for such an old game? That’s arguably the main reason people are upset.

Obviously, you don’t have to buy RDR. Still, it would be nice if those who do have to buy it for the first time didn’t have to pay extra for that privilege.
