The “best game ever made” has undergone a stunning transformation.
Portal 2 is an undeniably brilliant experience.
Some believe it a “masterpiece”, and having lost hours to the game myself, I have to agree with them.
Even by today’s high standards, the sequel holds up well. Few 13-year-old games can still wow players like this Valve creation.

Still, we rarely say no to seeing our treasured titles restored to their visual glory.
Have you ever played Portal: Prelude RTX?
Modder xoxor4d has used the foundations of the NVIDIA RTX modification for the original game to bring Portal 2 up to date.
We’d be lying if we said it runs without issues, however, the problems appear to be minimal from what we’ve seen so far.
Not ignoring the fact it looks even more stunning than it did before. And arguably “more menacing” too.
“Bro that's crazy!!! Looks beautiful! Good work,” praised @Huguito after watching a video of the mod in action, uploaded to YouTube by @gabdeg793.
As the YouTuber states, though, xoxor4d deserves all the credit for this mod.

Now that the darkest corners of Portal 2 have depth, the atmosphere of the experience feels more foreboding.
GLaDOS would be proud.
If you’re not a PC gamer, then we’re sorry to say you won’t be able to download this freebie. However, all is not lost, for the sequel is available to purchase on Steam.
Granted, it’s a brighter experience than what this modder has created, but it’s still an exceptional game.
That being said, if you can play with this RTX remix mod, we suggest that you do. We doubt you’ll be disappointed.
