GTA VI will not launch on PC from day one, but that won’t stop fans from buying brand-new consoles just to play Rockstar Games’ next masterpiece.

The hype is unbelievably real for GTA VI at the moment. Rockstar Games dropped the first trailer last December which has broken several records since its premiere, even becoming the most-liked video game trailer on YouTube.

Unfortunately while everyone was excited to finally get a sneak peek at the game, Rockstar was reluctant to give us a release date. All we know for the time being is it’ll release sometime in 2025, with fans speculating it’ll be earlier rather than later.

For some fans the wait will be longer than others, as it seems Rockstar will follow the same pattern it did with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 by releasing GTA VI for consoles first and eventually a PC port later. This will surely be bad news for players who only play on PC, as it could be several months before they get their turn to play.

The problem has become a topic of discussion with the online community, with one Reddit post asking “PC players, what will you do after the launch on consoles?” The post said the options will be either to buy a console just to play the game, or spend months trying to avoid story and gameplay spoilers, which will likely be an impossible task.

It seems for the majority of would-be players, the only option is to buy an Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5. One would-be player said “I'm a PC player but I'll get a PS5 the same day GTA VI releases lol.”

Another added “I'd be a damn fool waiting for the PC release. I'm getting a PS5 as soon as an official release date is announced

Finally one player said they’ll get both versions of the game, with plans to “mod the f*** out of it just like I did on GTA V.”

Godspeed to any PC players planning on waiting for their version of the game, the chances of avoiding spoilers will be near zero.
