If you’re on the lookout for new content for the classic sci-fi RPG, Mass Effect 2, then you’re in the right place with this new release.

Mass Effect 2 is widely considered to be the best entry in the popular BioWare series as reflected by its score of 96 on the aggregate website, Metacritic. For reference, the original game scored 91 and Mass Effect 3 scored 93.

“Are you prepared to lose everything to save the galaxy? You'll need to be, Commander Shepard,” reads the synopsis of Mass Effect 2. “It's time to bring together your greatest allies and recruit the galaxy's fighting elite to continue the resistance against the invading Reapers.”

As reported by DSOgaming, you can download a free mod for the PC version of Mass Effect 2 featured in the 2021 Legendary Edition which includes remasters of the original trilogy.

BioWare’s Mass Effect series is considered by many to be one of the best properties from the studio alongside the likes of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Dragon Age: Origins and more.

Sure, BioWare has had its fair share of missteps along the way such as Anthem, but that hasn't stopped the excitement for Mass Effect 5, a game announced in 2021 that still does not have a release date by the way.

The free mod in question created by Ravager called ‘LE2 Advanced Enemy Factions’ is available to download now via Nexusmods.

The mod not only overhauls enemy factions with new lore-friendly weapons and powers for enemies but also makes cosmetic changes including gear and even blood. These changes can be seen during cinematic cutscenes and not just during gameplay.

Sadly, as is the nature of most mods, this is only compatible with the PC version of Mass Effect 2 in the Legendary Edition.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
