Hogwarts Legacy recently received full modding support which has led to an outpouring of new content for the game.

Talented modders are beavering away but, of course, the fruits of their labour can currently only be enjoyed by Hogwarts Legacy players on PC.

The game’s mod support doesn’t extend as far as consoles.

Perhaps in the future we could see modding support roll out to consoles like Bethesda’s Creation Club.

If you are on PC though, there are plenty of ways that you can now extend the game whether that’s as simple as adding new cosmetics or via the exploration of additional dungeons.

The mod I’d like to highlight today actually adds a Pokémon-esque flavouring to Hogwarts Legacy as ‘Dekita Battle Pets’ adds a new pet companion that you can use in your fight against evil.

It’ll take you four playthroughs to see each of Hogwarts’ four house common rooms.

Created by DekitaRPG, the mod is totally free to download and as I mentioned, it’ll allow you to acquire a pet companion.

“This mod adds a system of customisable pet companions, accessible from your field guide, that not only follow you around the world, but can also help to fight against your foes,” the description reads.

You can pick what type of pet you want, including the likes of cats, chickens, sheep, and a variety of magical creatures.

Over time, you’ll be able to level up your pet, making them even stronger as a battle partner.

Additional magical beasts will unlock as your progress through the game.

I’ll be honest, a mooncalf by my side sounds pretty epic.

The creator goes on to state that while magical beasts have default unique abilities associated with them, so too can muggle pets do magic; it’s just that you’ll have to teach magic to them.

The mod is free to download now if you fancy giving it a whirl.
