With the news that Avalanche Software is reportedly working on both an extended version of Hogwarts Legacy as well as Hogwarts Legacy 2, it has never been a better time to be a fan of the Harry Potter-inspired RPG.

Just last week, Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. featured in an exciting report about the best-selling game of 2023.

Confirming the rumours of Hogwarts Legacy 2, the news also broke that the team was hard at work on expanding the very first game.

Although we don’t yet know what this expansion could entail, it is exciting news to say the least.

However, the fun doesn’t stop there.

Hogwarts Legacy players who just so happen to be a part of its talented modding community can now enter a competition which could see them get their hands on up to $5,000.

Courtesy of Warner Bros. and Curse Forge, the competition celebrates the modding community which recently received in-game support courtesy of developers.

“Enter the magical contest celebrating the launch of official in-game modding in Hogwarts Legacy. Create your mods and claim your share of the $125,000 treasure trove,” the official site reads.

Those who wish to enter just need to download the official Dev Kit, craft and submit their mod, join the Goblet of Mods contest by filling out the registration form on the official site, and then sit back and see if you are a lucky winner.

“Be it magical concoctions, magnificent spells, or wondrous beasts, there are countless ways to join the goblet and seize a share of the fantastical prizes awaiting the most inventive minds!”

Mods can be based around world-building, such as those that “enchant, alter, or unveil new quests and custom-made dungeons”.

Those that “showcase new character appearances, fantastic beasts, brooms, or attire” or add “fresh mechanics, QoL upgrades, and inventive gameplay twists” are also eligible.

Weekly winners will be announced so if you are quite handy when it comes to modding, why not try your hand at winning a prize at the same time?
