Hogwarts Legacy fans surprised with new multiplayer release you can download now

Hogwarts Legacy may be almost two years old already but that hasn’t stopped fans from wanting to return to Hogwarts again and again.

Although Avalanche Software has only released a small summer update so far, there are rumours of a sequel already on the cards. Whether or not fans are happy, however, is a different story entirely.

For now, content is looking pretty scarce which is why the Hogwarts Legacy modding community has taken over.

So, if you want to dive back into the Harry Potter inspired title but this time with friends, then this free download is perfect for you.

Created by The Together Team over on Nexus Mods, HogWarp makes multiplayer possible for Hogwarts Legacy.

“HogWarp aims to be a framework to make multiplayer experiences possible in this otherwise strictly single player game,” reads the official description.

“The focus is to provide the tools and a stable set of base features for server developers to host their own customised experience.”

With over 13,000 downloads, this mod is not one to scoff at and fans agree.

Taking to a video showcasing the mod over on Youtube, PC players shared their love for the free download.

“Incredible work. It really is unbelievable,” one comment read.

Another said: “Thanks for doing this! Sure it's not full story co-op or anything, but it's a good time if you want to hang out with friends and explore the game world.”

As mentioned by this fan, HogWarp doesn’t allow players to take on the campaign together. At least yet.

However, friends can still hang around in Hogwarts and surrounding areas and even take advantage of the game’s photo mode that arrived with the summer update.
