It looks like the inevitable GTA VI PC announcement could be made soon after Rockstar Games seemingly future-proofs its launcher following a new-gen update on Windows.
It feels quite strange that over the last few months or so, news on the highly anticipated arrival of the next entry in Rockstar Games’ massive Grand Theft Auto series has gone a bit quiet. However, the aforementioned Windows update could signal that a PC announcement could be made sooner rather than later.
Rockstar Games has updated its launcher on PC so that it now supports Windows 11 26H1 and 26H2. But what makes this update stand out from any other?
The odd thing about this update is that while Windows 11 26H1 is the latest version of the PC launcher, 26H2 isn't even out yet. Of course, this could mean absolutely nothing, but the optimistic might think that it’s in preparation for what’s to come, perhaps even GTA VI.

The patch notes for update version 1.0.106.2850 can be found below:
“Vice City, USA,” reads the synopsis of GTA VI. “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them.
“But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

At the time of writing, GTA VI is scheduled to be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November 2026. That’s as long as it doesn't suffer another delay.
As for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI, when Rockstar Games makes the announcement, we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as that information drops.
