GTA V fans are distraught after Rockstar Games has seemingly deployed a ban without an explanation.

When GTA V was first released in 2013 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it was quickly on its way to becoming one of the biggest and most commercially successful video games of all time.

Since that time, Rockstar Games has ported GTA V to every console generation, the most recent of which includes the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Other than being a fantastic game in its own right, GTA V is perhaps the most popular entry in the Grand Theft Auto series thanks to the cash cow that is GTA Online.

GTA Online Is Perfect for Roleplayers

Speaking of GTA Online, as reported by GamesRadar, players are distraught after Rockstar Games seemingly banned a popular wizard roleplay server, and apparently, the Take-Two Interactive-owned company has given no reason why it has come to this decision.

To summarise a very long tweet by SevenWands server owner TeufeurSoff, the user has asked Rockstar Games for clarification, but at the time of writing, there has been no reply.

Hello @FiveM @RockstarGames

I am tweeting you today to ask for your assistance.

You banned my SevenWands server for no reason, or for the wrong reasons.

Please know that I paid a team of developers and mappers for 13 months to create my own magical universe. I created a lore,… pic.twitter.com/DUYyx8qPwH

"You banned my SevenWands server for no reason, or for the wrong reasons,” exclaimed TeufeurSoff. “Please know that I paid a team of developers and mappers for 13 months to create my own magical universe. I created a lore, I created spells, I created factions, all from my own imagination and that of my team.”

Reading the tweet, it seems an assumed reason for the ban could be due to the server being heavily inspired by Harry Potter’s Wizarding World, so maybe Rockstar Games was worried about getting a copyright claim from Warner Bros.

It’s also worth keeping in mind that some GTA Online servers exclusively available on PC violate Rockstar Games’ terms of service and venture into a legally grey area, so it could be related to something like that. But we can only assume at this time.

TeufeurSoff also claims that more than $100,000 has been spent creating and evolving the SevenWands server, which is an incredible amount of money. The server has gained around 10,000 players. It will be interesting to see how or if Rockstar Games responds to this developing story.

GTA V is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, while its sequel, GTA VI, is currently set to be released on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
