Elden Ring: Garden Of Eyes praised for 'majestic' boss battle

The controversial Bloodborne-inspired mod has its fair share of haters, but the work does look impressive

An extremely impressive mod for Elden Ring keeps making the rounds online… but for equally complimentary and controversial reasons.

Garden of Eyes is a Bloodborne-inspired mod for Elden Ring, made by someone whose name doesn’t appear to be known to the general public.

I say “someone” but the developers behind Garden of Eyes appear to refer to themselves as a team, although there clearly is someone at its helm.

Now, to be fair, the mod does look impressive. Over in a thread on the r/EldenRingMods subreddit, folks seemed particularly impressed with one of its new boss fights against Miquella, the Bloodbound Consort.

“God damn,” commented user HaVeNII7, “Is the whole mod that level of quality? Custom voice acting and cutscenes is definitely a step up from what I’ve seen out there.”

And if you’re impressed by what you see, then you can also download the Garden of Eyes mod to try it for yourself… for £4.50 a month.

Of course, Elden Ring has its official DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree.

Yeah, herein lies the issue. It’s not just that this mod isn’t free, it’s a monthly subscription.

Assumedly you could just download the mod and cancel your subscription afterwards.

Except, what happens when Elden Ring gets an update? The mod probably wouldn’t work anymore, so you’d need to download the new version… which would require you to pay a second time.

Also, I’ve had a light poke around for more info regarding the mod and there are quite a few highly detailed accusations out there regarding Garden of Eyes’ use of stolen assets from other mods.

If that is true, that’s messed up. It’s one thing to paywall a mod that uses the assets of a big video game company’s game, but using other modder’s work without permission and then earning money by doing so doesn’t sit right with me.

Plus, The Convergence mod is free and honestly looks better anyway, but you do you.
