Now I know this exists, I'm not sure I could replay the game without it

This new mod for Cyberpunk 2077 has finally fixed one of the most annoying problems in the base game, and I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to start another playthrough without making sure I have it installed first.

I think it’s fair to say that Cyberpunk 2077 is up there with No Man’s Sky as one of the most impressive comeback stories in modern gaming.

If you were playing on PC from day one, the improvements and changes that CD Projekt RED has made will likely be a lot less noticeable to you than the poor folks who purchased the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at release, but every version of the game has still been subject to a laundry list of bug fixes and updates over the years.

Still, while no game is truly perfect (except maybe Ball x Pit), there are a handful of changes I wish that CD Projekt RED would still get around to. Thankfully, one very talented modder has already tackled one of these issues for them.

3D World Map Fixed is a new mod for Cyberpunk 2077 on Nexus Mods from uploader malgalad, and it’s taking aim at quite possibly the most annoying oversight that’s still present in the game to this day.

You see, if you compare the in-game map to the streets of Night City, you’ll notice that things don’t quite match up properly.

There were several times throughout my first playthrough where I’d wander on over to a spot on the map, only to find that the building featured didn’t actually exist.

On the flip side, there were a few times where I encountered the opposite: buildings you could physically visit, yet were nowhere to be found on the map itself.

The Mod Is Free to Download

Modder malgalad was clearly as annoyed about this as I was, as their mod attempts to make the in-game map perfectly match up to the physical locations in the game.

That seems like an awful lot of work, though. I mean, that would require them to model and add a bunch of buildings into the map, which is surely too much work for a single modder to do.

Well malgalad is built different, it would seem, as they’ve added 11 locations to the map, and altered dozens of other locations so that they perfectly match up with what you can find in the open world.

Incredibly impressive work. I can only hope they add support for the best mod in the game in a future update, too.
