Assassin's Creed Odyssey 60fps remaster is a sight to behold

Ancient Greece has never looked better

It has been just over six-years since Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was released and despite not being received as positively as some other entries, fans still made a home for themselves in the towns of ancient Greece.

Released back in 2018 as the 11th major instalment in the Assassin’s Creed series, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey took budding assassins to 431 BC during the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta.

Check out the launch trailer for Assassin's Creed Odyssey below!

This was the first Assassin’s Creed title which allowed players to pick the character they would like to play as at the start of the game (unlike Syndicate which allowed you to switch at will) and also cemented itself as having one of the biggest open-world maps in a Ubisoft entry.

Despite criticism for its pacing and inclusion of microtransactions, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is still a beloved entry in the long-running series so this new 60fps fan-made remaster is indeed a sight to behold.

Presented by YouTuber Digital Dreams, we can now take a look at what Assassin’s Creed Odyssey looks like in extreme settings, 60fps and 8K resolution.

Want to emulate this yourself? Head to the video's description for information on Digital Dreams' ReShade presets.

The results are remarkable as the just over nine-minute video gives us a glimpse at Ubisoft’s ancient Greece as we have never seen it before.

Thanks to ultra settings and the creator’s own ReShades, we can see Kassandra as she swims at the bottom of the ocean, trawls nearby beaches and overlooks stunning vistas before making her way into one of the game’s many authentic-looking towns.

With rich and vibrant colours and startling clarity, Odyssey has never looked better and it seems as though fellow viewers agree.

One viewer even went as far to say, “Possibly one of the last good looking games 'Ubislob' created.”

Well, that remains to be seen as Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to finally arrive on 20 March.

This time, Ubisoft is taking us to 16th-century Japan where we will follow the story of the unlikely duo, Shinobi Naoe and Samurai Yasuke, as they fight the Templar Order during the end of the Sengoku period.
