Zelda fans treated to free Nintendo Switch downloads they don't have long to claim

If you love The Legend of Zelda as much as we do, then you might want to claim these free downloads before it’s too late.

Alongside the mighty Super Mario series, when it comes to the popular Nintendo franchise, it doesn't get much bigger than The Legend of Zelda. Since its inception on the NES in 1986, the beloved series starring Link and Zelda has rarely let us down.

From A Link to the Past to Breath of the Wild and more, this iconic series has pumped out banger after banger. The most recent entry in the series is The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom for the Nintendo Switch.

In our review of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, we said, “It may have taken nearly four decades, but the first mainline Zelda game with the titular princess in the lead role was worth the wait.”

In celebration of the Echoes of Wisdom launch in September this year, Nintendo gamers can claim free icons to proudly display on their Switch profile with the last of four waves available now.

You won’t have long to claim the free icons as they will be leaving on Wednesday, 23 October to make way for something new. Unlike the default icons available in the Nintendo Switch profile settings, these exclusive icons are only purchasable with the free Platinum coin currency.

You can access the free icons via the Nintendo Switch home screen by going to ‘Nintendo Switch Online’ and then selecting the ‘Missions & Rewards’ section. Depending on which icons you choose, they will cost five or 10 Platinum coins.
