Pokémon fans losing their minds over ‘night and day’ remaster

A marked improvement

It’s better late than never, I suppose.

At long last, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is finally set to be remastered and the best part is that the new-gen upgrade is totally free.

It is that though, a new-gen upgrade.

Nintendo recently confirmed that 11 games will be receiving free Nintendo Switch 2 remasters, so you will need the new-gen console in order to access the free upgrade.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is joined by Arms, Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics, Game Builder Garage, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is perhaps the title most in need of a remaster as fair to say, it launched with some glaringly obvious performance issues.

The game’s textures and vistas all looked incredibly low-res and dated and while patches were deployed, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet hasn’t exactly managed to escape looking like a last-gen title .. until now.

Footage has been launched showcasing what the remastered Scarlet & Violet looks like, running alongside the OG game.

And the difference? Well, it's blindingly clear to see.

“OMG, it’s night and day. What a win. Good job Nintendo and Game Freak,” wrote Twitter user NexTechAI.

“I’m gagging, it looks so much better,” added ghosst1n.

“That’s pretty impressive! I hope Gen 10 takes full advantage and adds more substance,” said TeraTylerTV.

Forget Gen 10, let’s hope that Legends: Z-A lives up to expectation first and foremost.

The Pokémon Scarlet & Violet remaster is set to be ready upon launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, so it should be available to download on 5 June.

Yes, the Switch 2 is launching in just over two weeks. Let the countdown begin.
