Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order leak leaves fans divided

Could this be true?

There are just a couple of months left until Nintendo’s highly-anticipated showcase which will tell us all we need to know about the Nintendo Switch 2.

Although the Nintendo Switch 2 was officially announced back in January, potential buyers will have to wait until April to learn more about the successor handheld.

Check out the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement trailer below!

What we do know is that the Switch 2 is expected to be bigger and better than its predecessor with an even larger screen (expected to be around 25% bigger), magnetic Joy-Cons and a redesigned dock.

However, it won’t be until April’s Nintendo Direct that we will learn more but if you can’t wait until then, a recent leak has just surfaced online.

According to Reddit user jonstanley, a trip to the Golden Computer Arcade saw them ask the seller for more information on the Switch 2, including if pre-orders were available.

However, pre-orders will reportedly not be made available as the console is set to be launched in April, shortly after the Direct airs.

That means that if the Nintendo Switch 2 goes on sale on a Thursday like the Nintendo Switch did, we could be looking at a 3, 10, 17 or 24th April release.

The seller also claimed that it will retail at around HK$3500 which equals $450 USD and that Nintendo has plenty of stock so every buyer will be able to get their hands on the handheld.

Of course, this is all unconfirmed so worth taking with a pinch of salt.

However, the information of plenty of stock does correspond to a recent comment by Nintendo President, Shuntaro Furukawa as the company wanted to avoid scalpers and stock shortages.

That being said, according to Twitter user and content creator Jake Randall, pre-orders will almost 100% be happening.

“I’m sure that’s true for that chain of shops—they will not get access to pre-orders. However preorders will ONE HUNDRED PERCENT be happening. You can quote me on that.”

It remains to be seen when it will release and how much the Nintendo Switch will cost but for now, we can only wait.
