A wide array of Nintendo Switch freebies are available to claim over the next week.

That’s right, we’re back with more sweet Nintendo deals.

Recent surprises for the Nintendo Switch haven’t gone down well.

Following an unexpected drop, fans are unhappy to see yet another update that offers nothing innovative to the ageing console.

We can't wait for Pokémon Legends: Z-A to finally launch!

We can’t guarantee it, but hopefully these freebies we're about to tell you about will prove more of a hit.

Over the next week, Nintendo players can enjoy a varied selection of Super Mario themed Nintendo Switch Online Icons.

There’s quite a diverse mix of different moments from the Super Mario franchise on display here, so you shouldn’t struggle to find a way to express your love of the series.

Remember how we hoped fans would appreciate these free downloads?

Well, some definitely are, however, there are already several people miffed to see another rerun of previously released icons.

It wouldn’t feel so insulting if it happened once in a full blue moon, but sadly, refreshes are more commonplace than Nintendo makes out.

“Crying in a corner on another week of Super Mario icon refreshes pleading for any other rerun,” posted Twitter user @keeganjacobson.

The familiar territory is obviously breeding contempt, which could be argued as part of the reason gamers are so hyped for the Switch 2.

Teasers have fans ecstatic about its launch, yet none of us actually know when it’ll arrive. We have insider gossip, but no firm launch date as of yet.

Even once we learn when the Switch 2 is coming, this doesn’t automatically mean our annoyance at regurgitated NSO icons won’t persist.

If you spot an icon, wallpaper, or frame that you want to use your points to buy, make sure to do so over the course of this next week.

We won’t say once they’re gone, they’re gone, though they may take a few months to cycle back around.
