If you aren’t already in the know - perhaps you’re new to Nintendo Switch - if you’re a subscriber to Nintendo Switch Online, you can fully personalise your profile icon using Nintendo characters.

Everything from the main image, to the backgrounds and the frame around the outside, can all be tweaked to suit your tastes, or reflect your favourite games.

The selection rotates out every few weeks, and there’s a batch on the way out in the next seven days, making them leap to the top of your wishlist, if you don’t want to miss out.

Among the icons leaving the service soon, are some lovely character designs from Super Mario Wonder, as well as some legendary vehicles from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

You’ll even find a few from Mario’s last 3D outing, Super Mario Odyssey.

All of these are represented by gorgeous character models, matching frames, and stand out backgrounds that can be mixed and matched.

This may well be the last batch of Mario icons before the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, which will release on 5 June this year, likely bringing with it new ways to customise your profile.

You can unlock these icons by heading into the Nintendo Switch Online section of the eShop, where you’ll be able to spend platinum points on the images you want for your collection.

Platinum points are earned through campaigns accomplished, games played, and taking advantage of promotions.

You’ll likely have totalled up a fair few points over the months, so be sure to check out your pile of platinum and spend them soon.
