Nintendo Switch free download available for 48 more hours

A whole bunch of freebies are currently available to claim for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, but you’ve got less than 48 hours left if you want to get your hands on them before they disappear forever.

That’s right folks, it’s that time of the month again. Nintendo Switch owners can currently snag roughly 80 free Nintendo Switch Online Icons until April 28, at which point you’ll likely never see these specific icons pop up on the system ever again.

This month, it’s all Mario-themed. There’s a bunch of different Mario games with Icons this time around, including Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8, and Super Mario 3D World.

Do you need a way to tell your mates that you love cats, and 4 foot Italian plumbers? Well, lucky you, because two different Super Mario 3D World-themed Luigi and Mario catsuit icons to choose from this month.

Personally, I'll be taking the one with Daisy pointing and laughing. That's just way too disrespectful and funny not to grab.

Most Nintendo Switch Online Icons have never made their way back to the platform once they appear on the service, so if there are any you really, really want, this is likely your very last opportunity.

Last I checked, there have been somewhere around 4,000 Nintendo Switch Online Icons that have been available through the service… but I last checked some time ago, so who knows how many we’re up to now.

As an aside, I was really curious if everyone’s collected NSO Icons will make it over to the Nintendo Switch 2 when it drops, and I couldn’t find an answer anywhere after a light search.

I know that some people have made it their mission to try and collect all of these, so I hope for their sake that they are available on the Nintendo Switch 2.
