Nintendo freebies come in a variety of forms whether it’s video games, DLC or fancy console accessories.

However, this batch of Nintendo Switch freebies has a bit more of a personal touch applied, especially if you’re a fan of the popular Animal Crossing series and it’s regarding some snazzy profile icons that not even Tom Nook could repossess.

Check out the Animal Crossing: New Horizons trailer below

Its most recent release is 2020’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons which is available on the Nintendo Switch and credited for helping many gamers get through the COVID-19 pandemic.

“If the hustle and bustle of modern life’s got you down, Tom Nook has a business venture up his sleeve that he knows you’ll adore: his brand-new, ultra-exclusive Nook Inc. Deserted Island Getaway Package,” reads the synopsis of New Horizons.

Just a friendly warning, don't be fooled by Tom Nook’s package. He has alternate motives to get you in debt and will make you work hard to repay that loan.

That being said, if you’re sick of the never-ending Tom Nook debt, then you might be interested in claiming these Nintendo Switch profile icons that can be purchased with the free Platinum Point currency.

Nintendo has two free currencies, the aforementioned Platinum as well as Gold. The Gold currency is earned by purchasing content via the Nintendo eShop and can be redeemed as discounts on future purchases.

Whereas Platinum Points are earned by completing easy Nintendo surveys often related to a recent purchase. These points can then be spent at My Nintendo Rewards on exclusive goodies.

You can also spend Platinum Points on profile icons related to a variety of Nintendo franchises such as Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and of course, Animal Crossing.

As brought to our attention by the Twitter account NSO Icons Alerts, a big batch of Animal Crossing icons are now available to claim for free and cost a mere 10 Platinum Points each.

You can access the free icons via the Nintendo Switch home screen by going to ‘Nintendo Switch Online’ and then selecting the ‘Missions & Rewards’ section.

These icons won't be available to claim forever, so you might want to download them now before it’s too late.
