Nintendo Switch users surprised with trio of free games you can grab now

Three certified classics to choose from

Nintendo Switch Online users are in for a treat as yet another three delightful nostalgic gems have landed on the service.

The only downside is that these are Game Boy titles so they’ve landed on the slightly pricier +Expansion Pack subscription tier.

That being said, this is still one of the most reasonable gaming subscriptions out there.

A year of Nintendo Switch Online will set you back £17.99 whilst the +Expansion Pack version will cost you £34.99.

If you were after a year of PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass, it would cost you triple figures.

With that in mind, it’s hard to say no to the temptation of diving into so many of our favourite Nintendo games of yesteryear, especially given this latest line-up.

Nintendo Switch Online +Expansion Pack users can now enjoy Super Mario Land, Alleyway, and Baseball.

Princess Peach Showtime recently launched on Nintendo Switch with a free demo now available.

Super Mario Land is arguably the most exciting option here. This platformer first landed in 1989 and was actually a launch title for the Game Boy.

There are 12 levels to conquer, with Mario traversing Sarasaland. Oh, and this game marked the first appearance of Princess Daisy. Talk about iconic.

Alleyway is yet another 1989 classic - and another Game Boy launch title. If you didn’t pick this one up back in the day, it’s essentially a clone of arcade game Breakout.

Your objective is to clear a series of bricks using a ball and a paddle. It may not be the most complex of ideas but there’s something quite relaxing about the methodical nature of this one.

Finally, you can dive into Baseball. No prizes for guessing what this one’s about.

Also released in 1989, this one sees players … yeah, you got it. The answer is play baseball.

All are now available to download and enjoy.
