Nintendo Switch 2 price update confirms what we all suspected

Not a surprise

The Nintendo Switch 2 is such an exciting console, and while we’ve still got a while to wait before we can all add it to our collections, that hasn’t quelled the discourse around it.

We all love the Nintendo Switch and it’s brought us some incredible games like The Legend Of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom but we all knew it was in desperate need of an upgrade, the Switch 2 is it.

In case you missed it, here’s the reveal trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2 which includes a sneak peak at the new Mario Kart game as well

Hands-on sessions will be taking place throughout the year, and we’ll get a proper direct on the console in April where we’ll likely learn more about its features and hopefully see some of the games in development for it.

One of the big talking points surrounding the console though is the price, as we know it’ll be more expensive than the Nintendo Switch but hoping it’s not comparable to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, as it’s bound to be a less-powerful machine.

The price apparently leaked not too long ago, but a recent update has it that no retailer has a clue what the final Nintendo Switch 2 price will be, only Nintendo does.

This comes from the former Nintendo sales lead who spoke on the Kit and Krysta podcast, who said retailers like Walmart know "nothing, nothing...certainly not price, almost certainly not any kind of launch date other than maybe a quarter.”

So there you have it, the details on the Nintendo Switch 2 remain a closely guarded secret, and until April of this year we’ll likely stay in the dark unless Nintendo wants to make another announcement before then.

It’ll be worth the wait though, and I think regardless of the price people are going to buy it anyway just to play more Nintendo games.
