If you haven’t yet purchased a Nintendo Switch 2 console, you may soon be able to do so at a cheaper price point.
The only catch here is that this offer is seemingly only available to those who reside within France.
As reported by Dealabs, it looks as if Nintendo Switch 2 bundles will soon be discounted at French retailer E.Leclerc.
From 14 October, bundles including both Mario Kart World or Pokémon Legends: Z-A are due to reportedly cost €469.

At the moment, those bundles would set you back €499 each, so we’re talking a 6% reduction here.
Sure, it’s not a life-changing saving, but you shouldn’t turn your nose up at it either.
That €30 you save could go towards an additional game or accessory.
I should point out that Pokémon Legends: Z-A doesn’t launch until 16 October so if you want to nab this discounted bundle on 14 October, it’ll be a pre-order, albeit one with a very short wait.

This reportedly makes E.Leclerc the Nintendo Switch 2’s loss leader, which is essentially a fancy term for when an item is sold below its market cost so that a retailer can stimulate additional sales and attract customers from its competitors.
It’s perhaps also relevant to add that this price drop is very much a retailer-based decision.
As such, you shouldn’t expect to see price drops elsewhere.
Other retailers around the world could most certainly drop Switch 2 prices this holiday season but that decision wouldn’t per se be influenced by this particular discount.

Each retailer operates within their own best interests.
Reddit user PM_ME_YOUR_COMMAS commented, “Interesting, the price for the bundle has come down in price here in Norway as well, about 80 USD from launch,” so it could be worth having a shop around in your local territory.
“French retailers (especially Leclerc) frequently sell games and consoles at a lower price.
Most recent example is Silent Hill f, I saw it at 54,99€ this weekend,” added Carbonalex.

France is the place to be, it seems.
“Amazon is really losing its lead in France, Same price or more expensive, slow delivery unless you pay for prime, and they take forever to add product pages. I'll stick with Carrefour / Leclerc / Auchan,” added Marlon64.
It’s a good reminder that while Amazon is often the most convenient option, it doesn’t always make it the most cost-effective option so always have a shop around, whatever it is that you’re after - whether it’s a new console, game, or accessory.
