The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to launch some time next year but ahead of an official reveal by Nintendo, fans are relying on the occasional leak.

This includes a recent one which, if true, gives us our first close-up look at the infamous Joy-Cons.

The Nintendo Switch gave us epic titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild!

It has been seven years since the Nintendo Switch was released and the beloved handheld console has given us some epic games such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and various Pokémon entries, to name a few.

However, it is now time for its upgraded replacement and with its leaked specs sounding like an absolute dream, it is no wonder that Nintendo fans are eager to get it into their hands.

Nintendo is yet to officially unveil the Nintendo Switch 2 but that hasn’t stopped leakers from doing what they do best and more recently, they have given us our first look at the new-and-improved Joy-Cons.

Showing up on Bilibili, three somewhat blurry photographs of the black and white Joy-Cons were posted and to be honest, they do not look much different from their predecessors.

Featuring the standard analogue sticks, screenshot button, home button and d-pad, there is not much difference at all.

However, with the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons being notorious for drifting over its seven-year lifespan, potential customers are hoping that this problem has been rectified for the next model.

The screenshots were shared across social media with one Twitter account posting them to their page.

What followed was a range of thoughts from Nintendo fans.

“Eight years to improve them and they did this?” one unimpressed user wrote.

Another shared the same view when they said: “They look 3D printed, which while not impossible that Nintendo uses cheap plastic for just a prototype, idk.”

The comments range from thinking that the leak is fake to being unimpressed that they don’t look much better than the original Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons.

However, it is worth taking these images with a pinch of salt and with Nintendo expected to officially unveil the Nintendo Switch 2 in the new year, we don’t have long to wait to find out anyway.
