There is just one day to go until the Nintendo Switch 2 finally launches and despite the excitement building, a recent discovery may have just thrown a spanner in the works.
It has been eight years since the Nintendo Switch was released and although it gave us greats such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons to name a few, it is time for the Nintendo console to take a step back.
That is because tomorrow will mark the launch day of the Nintendo Switch 2 which is expected to be bigger and better than its predecessor.

Launching on 5 June, the Nintendo Switch 2 may be capable of a lot more than its previous iteration but according to its specs, its battery could be a lot weaker.
Courtesy of a spec sheet shared by Nintendo, the Nintendo Switch 2 will host a lithium ion battery with a capacity of 5220 mAh. This will see its battery life ranging from 2-6.5 hours but Nintendo also claims that this is merely an “estimate” and it could vary on “the games you play and usage conditions”.
Of course, we can imagine that playing Cyberpunk 2077 for the Nintendo Switch 2 will use up a lot more battery power than the latest indie walking simulator.
Additionally, charging times for the Nintendo Switch successor will be approximately three hours whilst in sleep mode.

News of its battery life soon spread online and over on r/Games, many potential customers were left feeling divided.
“This is pretty much in line with the Steam Deck battery life. There’s only so much battery efficiency you can have when playing higher and higher quality games,” user KingMercLino said.
However, a fellow user wasn’t feeling as optimistic.
“Honestly I thought this was the one thing the Switch would outperform the Deck in,” they admitted.
