Nintendo Switch to drop 11 free game remasters next month

This is huge

Nintendo fans are just a few weeks away from playing enhanced versions of 11 games, all of which will be free upgrades.

The Nintendo Switch 2 launches on 5 June and will not only usher in a new era of Nintendo games, it’ll also be bringing back some of the best titles from the Nintendo Switch.

Out of all the new games on the way, I think the one I’m most excited for is Pokémon Legends: Z-A, hopefully it lives up to expectations.

When the Nintendo Switch 2 launches next month it’ll provide free upgrades for 11 games, bringing a variety of features that differ from title to title.

Some will receive enhanced visuals and boosted framerates, some will just get the ability to Game Share with other Nintendo Switch consoles and some will get entirely new features that take advantage of new Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, like the joycons that can be used as a mouse.

The full list of games includes; Arms, Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics, Game Builder Garage, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

That’s an impressive list of titles, and more will be added to it as time goes on; hopefully Pokémon Legends: Arceus is one of the next ones.

Other games will only be upgradable with an additional purchase, like The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild and The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, but if you have the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription, you’ll get some upgrades for free.

While the new games coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 look exciting, I can’t wait to dive back into some of my favourite Nintendo Switch games and see what’s new.
