This Legend of Zelda remake is something that we never knew we needed, until now.

Since its inception on the NES in 1986, The Legend of Zelda series has been one of the most prominent properties in every Nintendo console generation. What’s more, pretty much every mainline entry in the series has been an absolute banger.

From The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild, there’s a lot to love about the timeless adventures of Link and Princess Zelda.

The Legend of Zelda has proven to be so popular that, following in the footsteps of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, we are now also getting a movie inspired by the stars of Hyrule. Well, when I say following in its footsteps, it’s almost.

Unlike The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which is a 3D animation, The Legend of Zelda will be a live-action production. Whether the movie proves to be a success remains to be seen.

It seems that many fans would have loved the Zelda movie to also be a 3D animation, but what if it were a Ghibli-inspired production? How stunning would that be?

Well, that’s exactly the concept that the YouTube channel, RwanLink, has brought to life by releasing a Studio Ghibli-inspired trailer based on The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.

“I believe I speak for everyone present here when I say that we need a whole Zelda series in this style from you!” exclaimed Lexberger in the comments section of the video.

“The armour materialising on the Fierce Deity is just so freaking cool!” said ninkstheultimate3376.

“The emotion it fills me with is both nostalgia and the best chills EVER,” declared CrumblingInsanity.

As the title of the trailer states, this is a mere teaser of what’s to come. RwanLink pinned a comment revealing that the full trailer will be released on Friday, 22 August this week.
