Animal Crossing Players Are Creating Zelda Magic, My Island Can’t Compete

Hyrule comes to Animal Crossing (kinda)

Animal Crossing players have been loving all the latest The Legend of Zelda items they can grab in the latest Animal Crossing 3.0 update, and this island in particular has caught our attention of being very Hyrule-inspired. Here's how you can recreate it on your own island, if you've been lacking in inspiration.

Alongside the beloved Super Mario and Pokémon series, two of Nintendo’s other popular franchises are Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda. Both properties are very different, but no less cherished by their respective fanbases. So it's no doubt

As important as most of the other Nintendo franchises are, , more specifically, 2020’s New Horizons, holds a special place in the hearts of many fans.

Released during the COVID pandemic, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was able to keep players connected in a unique way across the world. Sure, there are several methods that people can chat, but with New Horizons, players were able to visit friends' custom islands or perhaps make new friends in the process.

Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda Collide!

We've been loving the release of The Legend of Zelda freebies in Animal Crossing: New Horizons recently. In fact, our Editor Sara spent a good chunk of time transforming her final room in her house into a Lost Woods inspired maze, including a very shiny Master Sword and interactive Rupees. Here it is!

But if a single room isn't enough to contain all your Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild hype, this custom island design has you covered.

A player known as JellyfishNo5089 on Reddit, has created their own museum entrance in the game, inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

“My museum entrance,” revealed JellyfishNo5089. “Soooo obsessed with the Zelda items."

The screenshots shared on Reddit will be instantly recognisable to Breath of the Wild fans, featuring ruins, Guardians, and the Silent Princess flowers.

How impressive would an abandoned museum in Animal Crossing: New Horizons be? Although if anythign happened to Blathers I think fans would riot.

“If I had even a sliver of your creativity, I swear. So good. Still waiting for those pillars in my shop,” replied Chardan0001.

JellyfishNo5089 replied with “It was a lot of trial and error, thank you! Also, the pillars are a DIY recipe.”

“This is amazing! Great work, such a vibe,” exclaimed BlackLodgeSocialite.

“Dangg, this looks amazing! Makes me want to play Zelda again,” declared Rinimeni.

“This is one of those posts that makes me go 'man, I'm playing this game wrong.’ Very nice,” said TheHolyPopo.

“Do you need an amiibo to get this? First time playing and just upgraded my tent,” asked F1RST-1MPR35510N. “You need the amiibo for Zelda items unless someone can give you some,” informed JellyfishNo5089. But aha! We've got you covered - here's how to get the new Zelda items for free, no amiibo required.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now on Nintendo Switch, and recently received a Switch 2 upgrade, which costs $4.99/£4.19.
