Fans believe Rockstar Games’ Twitter silence is an indication that a Grand Theft Auto VI trailer is imminent.

So far, Rockstar hasn’t said a thing about Grand Theft Auto VI, and it’s driving fans around the bend. Many believed we’d finally get some official news during the 10th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V, but were unfortunately left heartbroken and disappointedw

Now though, fans are looking to the developer’s social media activity, or lack thereof, as a sign it’s gearing up for a big reveal.

Reddit user LivingSignificant555 shared their theory online, saying: “Rockstar Twitter abandoned for longest span yet? Trailer imminent? … They have unpinned their last tweet and have now not made any Twitter activity in over four days. Scrolling back many many months the longest gap I can find between their Twitter activity is three days. I think this could possibly be the longest gap they have had in years. I think this has the potential to be it.”

While other fans wanted to believe an announcement was on the way, many didn’t want to get their hopes up for fear of being disappointed again.

“Well, today IS Tuesday. Rockstar loves Tuesdays. But, they also love October. I'm gonna day we either get an RDR-port cover art reveal and they milk that or… we are actually getting some sort of announcement.”

“They had a 4-day gap between 8-12 September. Let’s not get our hopes up just because they haven’t posted in a few days lol.”

“Nah, they have RDR 2 for Switch and GTA TDE for Mobile announcements pending. Don't get your hopes up for another month.”

Unfortunately, they were right to lower their expectations, as LivingSignificant555 later updated their post with an edit that read: “nvm lmao”, as Rockstar had posted a new tweet shortly after they shared their idea.

Looks like it’s back to the drawing board for Grand Theft Auto VI theorists, though October is often considered the time when Rockstar gets into gear with new announcements, so we could get something then.

When it releases, Grand Theft Auto VI will launch for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
