This is the year that GTA VI will be released – if all goes according to plan, that is.

The excitement is palpable, especially with no sign of that second trailer.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that any and all “leaks” would be welcome information for hungry fans.

However, this GTA VI gameplay footage hasn’t been well received.

User PaperFull1305 shared several leaked screenshots and videos in the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit.

It's a new year, and with it comes more viewing of the same GTA VI trailer while we wait for the second

But instead of being met with elated replies, they instead found their post under heavy scrutiny.

“That’s the most underwhelming leak ever,” remarked bluAstrid.

Redditor Ajxtt joked, “We got janitor GTA VI leaks before GTA VI.”

So many milestones have been and gone without the new Rockstar title being released. Heck, GTA VI has already won an award without anyone having played it.

Understandably, would-be players want to learn all they can about the next GTA. Even more so with Rockstar continuing to tease its audience.

Yet, as far as the GTA community is concerned, this leaked footage is a waste of time that offers nothing of value.

“Even if this is real, it’s truly so inconsequential and minuscule that it’s difficult to see much value in it,” argued davidrevilla311.

What is more, while the authenticity of the leak doesn’t seem to be in doubt, it’s still deemed an “ass leak”.

Their words, not ours.

Although this latest development has succeeded in polarising the fandom, not everything about GTA VI is proving as divisive.

The leaked framerate is apparently much better than anticipated, which is music to everyone’s ears... assuming this information is accurate.

Like with much of the content about GTA VI, we have to remain cautious lest we be fooled into believing fallacies.

Still, what we can take away from this latest leak, if nothing else, is that fans want something more substantial about the upcoming game to sink their teeth into.

They’ve waited too long to accept anything less.
