GTA 6 fans braced for 'painful' release date

GTA VI fans are terrified Rockstar Games is going to drop a bombshell when the release date gets announced.

Before December 2023 Grand Theft Auto fans were waiting for two things, a full-trailer for GTA VI and a release date. They got the first bit when a trailer was dropped by Rockstar Games, and they kind of got the second though it was a bit too vague for their liking.

Rockstar coyly revealed that the game will launch in 2025. While fans were excited that we finally had an idea when we’d get our hands on the game, it still left us with a lot of questions. An exact date would have been nice yet unexpected, but what fans were really hoping for was to know which part of the year they can expect their shiny new GTA game.

Until the second trailer drops all that’s left for us to do is speculate, and fans are terrified Rockstar is going to come back and say GTA VI will launch late into 2025, not early.

One fan on Reddit, sladeshied, made a post saying: “It’s gonna be painful if I see “Coming Fall 2025” but I’m prepared for it.” They went on to say they’re hoping for a Spring release date like everyone else, but are preparing for the worst just in case.

Others were right there with them, with one saying “Even though they’re targeting February 2025, there is a reason why they only said "2025.” That means they aren’t confident it won’t be delayed to the fall. It’s best to just expect a fall release.”

Some were slightly more optimistic, like one who confidently said It’s gonna be awesome when I see ‘Coming March 2025.’”

Whenever the game is set to release, we know for sure it’ll be in 2025 as even if they game is delayed it’s unlikely it’ll get pushed back to 2026.
