Stellar Entertainment, the studio behind Burnout Paradise: Remastered is teasing a new project, and it sounds like a Burnout reboot.

When we think about racing games our minds are likely drawn to Forza: Motorsport and Gran Turismo 7. After all, they come from the biggest racing franchises on Xbox and PlayStation respectively, but the Burnout series definitely deserves more love.

Did you catch last night’s PlayStation State Of Play? Check out the new Death Stranding 2 trailer below.

It seems like it’s finally getting it too as a new project has been teased by Stellar Entertainment and fans are immediately thinking it’s a Burnout reboot.

Speaking to fans in its latest tweet, Stellar Entertainment said, "Our way of giving you (kinda weird) insider intel about what we're working on, without actually telling you what we're working on… And the bosses *still* haven't issued any takedowns! Happy days!”

Accompanying the message was an image reading, “POV: You’re about to be rear-ended,” so of course everyone thinks it has to be related to cars in some way.

Nothing has been confirmed at the time of writing so it’s unknown if it is related to Burnout, though it’d be a safe bet given Stellar Entertainment worked on Burnout Paradise: Remastered several years ago. The line “rear-ended” is also a pretty clear indication it’s going to be a game about cars, but it could always end up being a brand-new IP.

As you can imagine, fans are excited and flocked to the comments to revel in the hype, hopeful that a new Burnout game is finally on the horizon. “Burnout hype?” said one fan, while another added, “Hope you guys don't get burned out developing this!” One tweet read, “Please be a new Burnout game or Burnout 3 Takedown!”

Now all that’s left to do is hope and pray, though if it does turn out to be what we’re all thinking, Forza and Gran Turismo may have some serious competition on their hands.
