Assassin's Creed Black Flag collides with Baldur's Gate 3 in gorgeous new RPG

This Steam RPG looks like Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag meets Baldur’s Gate 3.

A potentially incredible RPG is coming to Steam later this year that looks like a mash-up between Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Baldur’s Gate 3.

As someone who’s not always a fan of turn-based combat Baldur’s Gate 3’s quick-paced strategic gameplay definitely opened my eyes to how fun it can be when done right.

We recently sat down with the cast of the live-action Fallout TV show for a game of snog, marry irradiate, check it out below

So when you stick a new Steam game in front of me that seemingly replicates that style and gives off vibes of my favourite Assassin’s Creed game, Black Flag, I can’t help but be interested.

That game is called Flint- Treasure Of Oblivion, which will launch on Steam sometime this year at an undisclosed date.

The game’s description reads: “Experience the golden age of piracy through a strong and original narrative, real-time exploration and turn-based tactical combat in Flint - Treasure of Oblivion.”

With a story told through an original comic book, the game will take players across a vast ocean filled with dangers, but more importantly, treasures.

Combat is similar to Baldur’s Gate 3, even down to the Dungeons & Dragons-style dice throws that affect the outcome of certain actions, but you’ll also possess special cards to unleash unique abilities and skills.

There are also plenty of diverse environments for you to explore when you’re not battling, all of which contain their own secrets to uncover.

Unfortunately an official release date hasn’t been shared at the time of writing, with only the vague release window of 2024 featured on the store page, though if it looks like your cup of tea you can add it to your wishlist for updates on its release.

If you’re a fan of RPGs and want to play what’s essentially Baldur’s Gate 3 but pirate-themed, Flint- Treasure Of Oblivion might be the game for you.
