In a surprise announcement, a brand-new FIFA game has been announced that is coming exclusively to Netflix Games where it'll be free to play for all subscribers.
It is hard to believe that it will have been four years since the last game under the FIFA banner was released with the launch of FIFA 23 back in September 2022.
Following the launch of FIFA 23, the franchise was later split with EA Sports rebranding as EA Sports FC with the most recent entry in the football gaming series EA Sports FC 26 arriving back in September.
Now despite the rebrand, it seems as though FIFA is back but this time, it will be developed by Delphi Interactive and will arrive exclusively on Netflix Games in summer 2026, just in time for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The announcement arrived today (17 December) came courtesy of the official Netflix Twitter account with the tagline, 'FIFA is changing the game'.
For the first time, Netflix users will be able to 'experience the emotion and drama of the tournament in its purest, most joyful form' either solo or with friends online.
Better yet, all you will need is a Netflix subscription and your phone.
“The FIFA World Cup is going to be the cultural event of 2026, and now fans will be able to celebrate their fandom by bringing the game right into their living rooms,” said Alain Tascan, President of Games at Netflix.

'Taking Football Back to its Roots'
“We want to bring football back to its roots with something everyone can play with just the touch of a button.”
For FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the collaboration between Netflix and Delphi Interactive is a “key milestone” in “FIFA’s commitment to innovation in the gaming sphere”.
They hope that this will inspire the younger generation to enjoy the new era of digital football, especially with Netflix users able to experience the game for free.
“As lifelong FIFA fans, we’re honored to help usher in the bold next generation and reimagine the future of the franchise,” Casper Daugaard, Founder & CEO of Delphi Interactive said.
“Our mission is simple: Make the FIFA game the most fun, approachable, and global football game ever created.”
As the first FIFA entry without the involvement of EA Sports, it will offer quite a unique take on the football game that has taken the world by storm since it first launched way back in 1993.
“FIFA and the iconic EA Sports it’s in the game, not together, just doesn’t sound right,” one user over on Twitter shared.
Another added, “This is FIFA testing distribution more than gameplay.
If Netflix can turn a yearly sports title into a live, service-style experience, that’s a real shift in how sports games reach audiences.”
So there you have it, the next FIFA game will officially launch in summer 2026 on Netflix Games. More will surely be released in due course, we'd imagine, as the hype grows.
