Streamer Mizkif, real name Matthew Rinaudo, has apologised for his “tone deaf” response to a sexual assault controversy. Mizkif was previously accused of covering up an alleged groping incident by fellow streamer AdrianahLee.

In June 2021, AdrianahLee was reportedly at a party with streamer CrazySlick who “came into the room” while AdrianahLee was unconscious and “touched” her neck and chest. CrazySlick later apologised for making AdrianahLee “feel uncomfortable” but earlier this year, AdrianahLee came forward to share that this was actually a diluted version of the story.

The streamer shared that her TwitLonger post had been proofread by Mizkif and another streamer, Maya, who encouraged her to release a statement quickly to protect CrazySlick who was a housemate of theirs. Mizkif referred to the incident as “not really a big deal”. At the same time, screenshots surfaced seemingly showing Mizkif using racial and homophobic slurs.

In September, Mizkif was suspended from One True King (his content creation and lifestyle brand) while they investigated the allegations. He then apologised, saying that he’d made “inexcusable statements” and that “sexual harassment, regardless of degree, can never be considered small.” A month later in October, Mizkif made his comeback to streaming and reignited the controversy by joking about the alleged cover-up.

Now, he’s addressing those remarks. As reported by TheGamer, Mizkif has once again apologised for his “unacceptable” behaviour. “I communicated almost everything terribly,” he said of his comeback stream. “I was completely tone deaf to such a serious situation and I’m so sorry for how I acted.”

He continued, “I want to be better not only for myself but for my audience and I want my influence on this world to be positive and I don’t want anybody to deem the way I acted in that first stream as acceptable or okay because it was not.” Mizkif ended the apology by saying that he hopes his fans “will stick along”.
