Very sad news coming through today that popular Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade has died after his battle with stage four cancer.

Technoblade, who’s real name was Alex, revealed his diagnosis to his 10 million subscribers last year and had mostly been away from his uploading schedule while he underwent chemotherapy for the disease. He was just 23 years old.

On June 30th, one last video was uploaded to his channel titled “so long nerds”, where Technoblade’s father revealed that the creator had sadly passed away, just eight hours after penning his final words to his followers. You can see the video below.

In the words to his fans, as read by his father, Technoblade stated that if he were able to live one hundred lives, he “would choose to be Technoblade again every single time. Those were the happiest years of my life. I hope you guys enjoyed my content and that I made some of you laugh and I hope you all go on to live long, prosperous and happy lives, because I love you guys. Technoblade out.”

A message at the end of the video from Technoblade’s mother stated, “this past year had a lot of rough spots for our son as he battled stage four cancer. But he didn’t complain, and kept using his famous strategic mind to try to beat what he knew were almost impossible odds… My son’s bravery on this path was a shining lesson to all of us who were privileged to walk it with him.”

Known primarily for his involvement with the Dream SMP Minecraft server where a lot of famous YouTubers would hang out and create content together, Technoblade amassed a huge following thanks to his natural warmth and charm.

The YouTuber had raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for cancer charities in his lifetime, and was often cited as one of the most down to earth and humble content creators in the industry. He also noted that his “siblings are going to college” thanks to the donations from supporters.

Fans have set up a book of condolences on the Hypixel server that he used which will be passed on to his family. Our thoughts go out to his family and loved ones at this difficult time.
