Everybody’s favourite Armoured Avenger is making a return with a brand-new series on the way from Pulitzer prize winner Spencer Ackerman.

With the final issue of Invincible Iron Man being released just this week, it is time for a new team to dive into the weird and wonderful world of Marvel’s Iron Man in a brand-new comic series.

Check out the trailer for Iron Man below!

Written by Spencer Ackerman (Reign of Terror; DC's Waller vs. Wildstorm) and artist Julius Ohta (Hellverine, Alien) and set to debut in October, this new volume of Iron Man will continue after the events of Invincible Iron Man #20.

Iron Man #1 will continue the story from the beloved Tony Stark after he finds himself back in control of Stark Unlimited.

However, with threats coming from every direction, Tony must channel the beginning days of the Iron Man suit by building the “Improvised Iron Man”, a suit that hasn’t been seen for 60-years.

Not only that but the series will reportedly introduce a new Iron Monger who is seemingly sporting a mysteriously-powered armour.

The official synopsis reads: "With his wealth restored, Tony's first order of business is getting his company back out of the weapons game.

But the board is more concerned with profit margins than super-hero ethics. Stark Unlimited is for sale.

And the highest bidders are Tony's two biggest competitors: Roxxon and A.I.M. New armour, old enemies and unbelievable twists."

For Ackerman, getting to work on an Iron Man series was a dream come true.

"Winning a Pulitzer is cool and all, but it's not writing for Marvel Comics," he shared.

"And to write Iron Man is a very specific dream come true.

A lot of comics' best creators have used Iron Man to tell big stories about security and freedom – with a whole lot of super hero action, of course – and I can't wait to build on their legacy."
