An epic team-up is on the way

Marvel Studios once touched on a storyline of Bruce Banner and Black Widow falling in love, and while it was seemingly brushed under the rug, fans latched onto the pairing.

As two of the founding Avengers, the heroes have long been favourites of viewers of the MCU, but also readers of the comics.

Thunderbolts* is in cinemas on 2 May 2025

Now, after quite some time, the two characters will fight alongside each other once again in a new comic book adventure.

New Thunderbolts*, coming from writer Sam Humphries & artist Ton Lima, will capitalise on the excitement around the upcoming film, which comes to cinemas on 2 May.

However, the new comic only shares a name with the film, as the new line-up for the team is very different.

Only Bucky Barnes jumos over from the screen to the pages of this comic, and he’s joined by Black Widow and The Hulk.

Other members of the team are Namor, Wolverine, Clea, and Carnage.

It’s a hell of a team that Marvel has put together, and there’s sure to be some fireworks as they attempt to work with each other.

After the news of the comic was announced on Twitter, fans excitement went through the roof, and many of them had one question, how will this team survive?

“A team with carnage, wolverine & the hulk?? their first mission is surviving each other,” says one user.

Many of these characters are legacy incarnates of iconic heroes, as we see with X-23 stepping into the mantle of Wolverine.

Black Widow and The Hulk are perhaps the most familiar faces to MCU viewers, and the comic should hopefully be a nice mix of nods to the MCU, but also the history of the comic characters.

This will make for a perfect jumping on point for those who want to explore the many heroes of Marvel Comics - it should be an exciting series.
