The closed beta of Marvel Rivals has begun and it’s already wildly popular with Marvel fans around the world.

It’s no big surprise that the game is doing so well - after all, it’s a free-to-play game based on the winning formula of games like Overwatch and filled with all your favourite Marvel characters.

If you want some Marvel in your life soon, Deadpool and Wolverine is in cinemas this week

However, it is a closed beta, so only some have access to the new PvP title. This hasn’t stopped over 50,000 fans from playing it on Steam alone.

According to Steam Charts, at its peak, Marvel Rivals had a player count of 52,515 and those high numbers are holding steady at around 30,000+.

Anticipation was high when the game was announced and early playtests proved popular. The bold new art style combined with the action-packed PvP elements are a surefire way to pull in players.

When the full game launches you can expect thousands more people will flock to the servers in the hope of finding a new game to while away the hours.

Developers NetEase are still hard at work on the 6v6 team-based shooter that pulls in many of Marvel’s top characters including Black Panther, Iron Man, Loki, Venom, The Hulk, and more.

If you want to play the closed beta, keys will be available via Twitch drops from 24 July, meaning you can snag a code by watching just an hour of streaming.

Once in the game, players can experience two versions of the 6v6 gameplay and complete an in-game event to win the reward of an exclusive Venom skin that will only be available during the testing phase.

Marvel hopes to win over an audience with their unique blend of superhero powers and team-based tactics when the game launches early next year when the game comes to PC and consoles.
