LEGO Fallout is real, and you can play it now

An indie game dev has made a playable LEGO Fallout fan game, and it looks amazing.

We’ve seen loads of LEGO games release over the years - from LEGO Indiana Jones to Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, so many beloved franchises have been converted into glorious block form. And what fun they’ve been - we gave this year’s LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga an 8/10 in our review, praising its “hilarious LEGO humour” and the sheer scale of its various planets.

One place LEGO has never been taken before is the world of Fallout. Despite the post-apocalyptic series’ huge popularity, for some reason, neither Bethesda or the LEGO team seem to have taken a moment to consider how damn good it’d be to put the two things together. I mean, seriously - think about the potential for a second here.

Before we get into it, take a look at the gameplay trailer for the huge fan-made Fallout 4 mod, Fallout London, below.

Well, we need imagine no longer. As reported by PC Gamer, talented game dev and YouTube creator ThrillDaWill has been working on an unofficial LEGO Fallout game, and it genuinely looks great. What’s more, this is an actual working project - you can play it on PC right now, totally free.

As well as a beautiful blocky wasteland, LEGO Fallout also includes its own version of V.A.T.S. - the creator revealed that this was pretty difficult to incorporate, but it definitely helps feed into that proper Fallout feeling.

“This fan-made project combines two of the best things,” the game's description on itch.io reads. “Stepping on legos with your bare feet, and endless bugs [and] glitches!!”

On that note, definitely don’t expect it to run perfectly - the creator is still working on “additional bugs and stuff”, as well as other new projects, and welcomes fan feedback.

If you want to try ThrillDaWill’s LEGO Fallout game, you can find it right here. Now, we can only hope that Bethesda decides to pursue this idea for real.
