Jennifer Lawrence’s new R-rated comedy is already proving to be a hit with the fans ahead of its release in a few months' time.

No Hard Feelings releases in theatres this summer and despite only ever releasing a trailer, it seems that it’s got all the potential to be one of the best comedies of 2023.

“On the brink of losing her childhood home, Maddie discovers an intriguing job listing: wealthy helicopter parents looking for someone to 'date' their introverted 19-year-old son, Percy, before he leaves for college,” reads the synopsis. “To her surprise, Maddie soon discovers the awkward Percy is no sure thing.”

This form of comedy is something a little different from the popular actress. Sure Lawerance has starred in satire comedy (ish) Don’t Look up, but No Hard Feelings is certainly a strong contrast from the likes of Mother!, and The Hunger Games to say the least.

Directed by Gene Stupnitsky (The Office), and also starring Matthew Broderick (Ferris Buller’s Day Off), fans have been sharing their pleasant surprise of No Hard Feelings, following its recent trailer release.

“I'm so genuinely surprised and happy by how unexpectedly good this looks,” said a YouTuber user in the comments section of the trailer. “The pepper spray had me laughing so hard,” added another.

“I was completely expecting this to be shit, but I'm genuinely surprised by how much I ended up laughing,” said JeanieBeanie “The movie is fully riding on Jennifer's natural comedic talent and, based on this trailer alone, she. will. deliver. I just hope the script delivers too.”

No Hard Feelings has a release date of 23 June in theatres. Which just so happens to be during the same release week as the highly anticipated The Flash starring Ezra Miller, Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton.

I think No Hard Feelings might warrant a rare date night at the theatre with my wife and me.
