Earlier this week, another big actor emerged as a potential James Bond frontrunner, and fans are incredibly divided.

It’s rumoured that Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the English actor perhaps best known for his roles in Kick-Ass (as the titular character) and as Wanda’s brother, Pietro Maximoff, in Avengers: Age of Ultron had a meeting with James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, and it apparently went well. It hasn’t been confirmed if this is true, but it’s got everyone thinking about the possibility, and as Digital Spy reports, some definitely like it more than others.

In case you missed it, GoldenEye 007 is finally getting remastered - take a look at the trailer below.

On one hand, some are fully on board with the concept: “I didn’t know Aaron Taylor-Johnson was British. For a moment I was shocked by reports he is being considered for the role of James Bond. But I then realised his work in Tenet felt like an audition for the Bond franchise,” wrote Twitter user @DanSanguineti. “If this happens I’ll watch the movies in theatres for the first time in the entirety of my life,” commented @ladybyrds.

Others aren’t convinced: “Look, with all due respect to Aaron Taylor-Johnson. I do not want him as Bond,” @Jak70760853 tweeted. “The entire world wants Idris Elba, or Regé-Jean Page if Idris is too old, why would they ever go with Aaron Taylor-Johnson if they want anybody to go see new Bond movies?” questioned @KEBrightbill.

Following the announcement that Henry Cavill won't be playing Superman in the new DCU, some fans previously suggested it could finally be his time to shine as Bond. However, given that he’s now announced that he’s making a “Warhammer Cinematic Universe” with Amazon, perhaps he’d be too busy for such a huge role.

It feels like we’ve been pondering who’ll be taking up the role of Bond forever now - hopefully we get a concrete answer soon.
