Jackass star Bam Margera, real name Brandon Cole, was arrested on 2 March in San Diego County and now faces a charge of domestic violence.

As reported by People, the 43-year-old reportedly kicked a woman at a home in the 25000 block of Jesmond Dene Road in Escondido, California. A statement released to People by the San Diego County sheriff’s department confirmed that the incident happened at around 5.30AM.

Margera was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for corporal injury on a current or former spouse, cohabitant, dating partner or fellow parent. On Friday 3 March, Margera was released just after 1PM after posting a $50,000 bail. Lt. Ryan Wisniewski, who is with the San Diego County sheriff’s department, told People that Margera is due in court on Thursday 9 March. He added that the district attorney could choose to reduce or drop charges at the hearing.

Margera’s estranged wife Nicole ‘Nikki’ Boyd filed for divorce back in February after the couple separated in September 2021, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce. In recent months, the Jackass star has had multiple rehab stints and is also in the midst of a custody battle relating to this divorce.

Boyd wanted legal and physical custody of the duo’s five-year-old son Phoenix. It’s believed that Boyd would allow Margera visitation rights but only in the Los Angeles County region.

In 2022, Margera was absent from Jackass Forever after he was fired. The star struggles with alcoholism and it’s thought that he was fired relating to these personal issues. Margera later sued several of his co-stars plus Paramount Pictures, MTV, Dickhouse Entertainment and Gorilla Flicks for the unjust cancellation of his contract. The case was settled in August 2022.

A spokesperson for Margera is yet to comment on the arrest.
